It all comes down to one word…trust.

Really it does.
Fear brings worry.

When I’m in a situation that I can’t change, it’s all about trusting the One who holds the world in His hands.

If I’m scared, it’s probably because I am trusting in my own strength and feeling inadequate- as well I should!

Psalms 9:10
10 Those who know Your name will trust in You,
for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You.

Psalms 13:5-6
5 But I trust in Your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in Your salvation.
6 I will sing to the LORD,
for He has been good to me.

Psalms 20:7
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

Psalms 25:1-2
To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul;
2 in You I trust, O my God.

Psalms 62:8
8 Trust in Him at all times, O people;
pour out your hearts to Him,
for God is our refuge.

It’s simple.

    When our daughter left to live in Kathmandu, Nepal, I realized that I could no longer protect her myself from the world. But I knew that there was One who loved her even more than I (which I frankly find hard to believe!), and, though I could not see her, He could. I have rested in His sovereign care for her. (And remind myself of this when the news shows military coups, or when her twin visited her last year and they enacted a shoot-to-kill curfew each evening.) I agree wholeheartedly with you that the key word is TRUST. And we all must TRUST that He who is able to do more than we would even ask, He who loves our children even more than we do, He who can actually see the situations our children are in — HE will be with them AND us throughout it all.Thanks for your transparency.
