Help for Moms Who Are Tired of Hearing “I’m Bored!”

Note: A better mother would have craft ideas…

It’s summer vacation for most of us and you know what the kids think that means? That mom’s hat went from chauffer to cruise director!

The kids would LOVE to us have a full agenda of activities every day of the week. But we are the REAL moms of West Michigan right?

I mean, sure we have some plans for zoo days or even fun getaways to the lake but we will also have plenty of down days and we are bound to hear those two little words that give us a nervous twitch: I’m bored!

I have a tried and true method that I’ve used for this type of situation.

Anytime my kids say “I’m bored” I give them a job to do.

It may be as simple as taking stuff out to the recycling to the bin, but I’m telling you it works! It gives the kids that extra incentive to find something to do on their own.

So Real Moms, the next time you hear the words, “I’m bored” look around and see if the shelves could use a little dusting and I promise those words will become a thing of the past.

Listen to this segment on my Star 105.7 page. I do the ‘Real Moms of West Michigan’ segments on Star 105.7 with Tommy and Brook every Tuesday morning around 7:05 AM. If you are not in the West Michigan area you can listen on iHeart radio
