Good Monday morning!
I was reading this story today.
Matt 8:23-26 Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” 26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. NIV
1. Without warning: sometimes the storms come from seemingly no where- and they are furious. To the point we feel they will over take us.
2. Jesus is not moved by the storms…we feel that we have to “let Him know” of the grave danger at hand.
3. His response to our fear is, why are you scared? Don’t you believe me?
4. Instead of ignoring our pleas for help or condemning our lack of faith, He speaks and brings peace on our behalf.
Not all storms are calmed immediately. Sometimes He calms the storm, and sometimes He calms His child in the storm.
But His response is always…BELIEVE ME.
